The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 20, 1984
     Ruth Williams Funk, 72, died Dec. 14 in Seattle.  She was a former 
resident of The Dalles.
     She was born May 21, 1912 in The Dalles to Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Williams.  
Her father was the president of the E. M. Williams Store, Walther-Williams Co. 
and the First National Bank of The Dalles.
     After his death in 1928, the family moved to Los Angeles and she 
continued her high school education and later attended Holmby College in 
Beverly Hills.  In 1935 she married Raymond J. Hill and resided in the Naches 
Heights area in the Yakima Valley.
     Mr. Hill died in 1972, and she later moved to Seattle and remarried.
     Survivors include a son, Anthony Hill, Seattle; a brother, Don Williams, 
The Dalles; two nephews, Robert Williams, Portland and Mike Williams, Maui, 
Hawaii; and a niece, Lora Holzer, Portland.
     Memorial services will be held at her home in Seattle on Dec. 29.  Burial 
will be at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
