He was born in Duval, Sask., on Jan. 23, 1915. He attained his bachelor’s degree at the University of Saskatchewan and his masters and Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin. He went on to teach in Turkey and Libya and retired as professor emeritus at Oregon State University. After retiring he was a Realtor. He served in World War II overseas as a lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He was also associated with the Masons, Shriners and the Royal Canadian Legion. He married Jean Miller of Vancouver, B.C., formerly of Davidon, Sask., on March 22, 1974. They returned to Davidson in 2000. Survivors include his wife, Jean, Davidson; daughter, Wendy Frizzell, Austin, Texas; son, Barry Frizzell, The Dalles; grandsons, Barry (Maribeth) Murray; great-granddaughter, Madeline; sister-in-law, Margaret Frizzell, Strasbourgh, Sask.; brother-in-law, Georf Blake, Strasbourgh, stepson David (Connie) Sampson and family; stepson Guy (Colleen) Sampson and family, Davidson; stepdaughter, Julie (Ernie) Brock and family; and numerous nieces and nephews.
