Surnames: Fritz, Oldfield, Melzer, Koolman Perry Dale Fritz, 76, a resident of The Dalles, died at his home on Friday, May 2, 2003. He was born October 8, 1926, in Watertown, South Dakota, the youngest of three children to Sam and Elvira L. (Oldfield) Fritz. He grew up in South Dakota then started working construction. He followed the construction of dams throughout the west, settling in Wasco (Oregon) in the early 1960's. He retired in the early 1980's and moved to The Dalles in 1999. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and rifle ammo reloading. Survivors include his daughter, Roxanne Melzer and her husband, Randy, Redmond (Oregon); granddaughters, Leslee and Leyla and great granddaughter, Savanah. He was preced in death by his wife, Irene J. (Koolman) Fritz. Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, at Wasco Sunrise Cemetery, with Asa Jenson officiating.
