Wakley iwakley@msn.com and July 10, 2006, 1:51 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 12, 1983 Roy B. French, 61, a resident of The Dalles since 1953, died May 4 at a local nursing home. He was born June 7, 1921 in Portland. Mr. French served in the Air Corps of the U.S. Army in World War II and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction field until he retired because of health reasons. He was a member of Gateway Presbyterian Church and Wasco Masonic Lodge No. 15, where he was a past master and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Survivors include his wife, Madeline, The Dalles; two daughters, Mrs. Tony (Carrie) Repasky, Portland, and Rae Noelle French, The Dalles; a brother, Bert, Portland; and two sisters, Ethel Willard, Otter Rock and Ruth French, Roseburg. Private burial services were in the Veteran's Section of Parklawn Cemetery May 5. Memorial services were at Gateway Presbyterian Church May 7 with the Rev. James Hazlett officiating. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Gateway Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
