Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 11:13 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, April 26, 1984 Estella Albertine Frazer, 88, a resident of Dufur from 1926 to 1969 when she moved to The Dalles, died at a local nursing home on Tuesday, April 17. She was born in North Dakota on Dec. 30, 1895. Mrs. Frazer had worked for the Mt. Hood Telephone Co. in Dufur for 21 years before her retirement in 1968. She was the last switchboard operator for the company before Dufur went to dial telephones. She was a member of the Dufur Christian Church and The Dalles Bowling Association. She had been an active bowler before she quit bowling because of illness in 1977. Survivors include four sons, John Frazer, Hillsboro; Donald (Bob) Frazer, The Dalles; Sander Anderson, Enterprise; and Scott F. Frazer, DuBois, Wyo.; a daughter, Eleanor Phillips, The Dalles; 13 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services were at the Dufur Community Cemetery on Monday. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Fund.
