Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 10:45 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, April 26, 1984 Myrtle Fleschner, 89, a resident of The Dalles since 1937, died at the local hospital on Sunday, April 22. She was born Dec. 31, 1894 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Mrs. Fleschner worked as a bookeeper in the fruit industry and had worked for Columbia Fruit from 1937 until it merged with The Dalles Cherry Growers in 1966. She worked part-time after the merger. She was a member of Columbia Chapter No. 33, Order of Eastern Star; The Order of Amaranth; and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Survivors include three grandchildren, Marilyn Spiller, Long Beach, Calif.; Donald Bourne, Seattle; and William H. Meyers, Long Beach; and one great-granddaughter, Shirley Spiller, Long Beach. A daughter, Shirley Mary Myers, died in June of 1966. No public funeral service was held. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
