The Dalles Weekly Reminder, April 26, 1984
     Myrtle Fleschner, 89, a resident of The Dalles since 1937, died at the 
local hospital on Sunday, April 22.

     She was born Dec. 31, 1894 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

     Mrs. Fleschner worked as a bookeeper in the fruit industry and had worked 
for Columbia Fruit from 1937 until it merged with The Dalles Cherry Growers in 
1966.  She worked part-time after the merger.

     She was a member of Columbia Chapter No. 33, Order of Eastern Star; The 
Order of Amaranth; and the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

     Survivors include three grandchildren, Marilyn Spiller, Long Beach, 
Calif.; Donald Bourne, Seattle; and William H. Meyers, Long Beach; and one 
great-granddaughter, Shirley Spiller, Long Beach.

     A daughter, Shirley Mary Myers, died in June of 1966.

     No public funeral service was held.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral 
Home was in charge of local arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to charities.
