The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 16, 1987
George Frederick (Fred) Flanders, 78, died Jan. 8 in The Dalles.

He was born March 20, 1908, in Olex, Oregon, and lived in Condon and later The 
Dalles for many years.  As an auto mechanic, he owned and operated his own 
garage in The Dalles.

He is survived by his sisters, Mrs. Clare A. Stienke of Seaside and Mrs. Glen 
Marsh of Hood River; brother, Douglas H. Flanders of Long Beach, Calif.

At his request no funeral services were held.  Private cremation was in 
Portland.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
