The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 22, 1995
     Darlene Joyce Fitch, 56, The Dalles, died at her home Sept. 13, 1995.
     She was born in Plattsmouth, Neb. on May 10, 1939, the third of four 
children to Raymond G. and Merrill (Price) Grauf.  She grew up and lived in 
Nebraska, moving to The Dalles area in 1986.
     She worked in medical records in Omaha and was working as a certified 
nurse's aide at Valley Vista Care Center before her illness.
     She enjoyed gardening, baking pies, studying and reading.
     She is survived by her husband, Linford Robert Fitch, whom she married in 
Omaha, Neb. in 1979; children:  Linda Gomez of Omaha, Neb., Diane Schmadeka of 
Vancouver, Wash., and Herbert R. Gomez, Jr., of Omaha; two granddaughters; a 
brother, Raymond Grauf, Texas; sisters:  Kay Taylor of Plattsmouth, Neb., and 
Marge Minnok of Southern California.
     Services were at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Sept. 16.
     Memorials:  American Cancer Society in care of Spencer, Libby and Powell 
Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave., The Dalles.
