     Michael David Fire, 53, a resident of Wasco, died in an auto accident 
near Rufus on Saturday, July 24, 2004. 
     He was born May 16, 1951, in Palmdale, Calif., the second of eight 
children to Edward Michael and Geraldine T. (Hall) Fire.
     He was raised in the Palmdale area and graduated from Palmdale High 
School in 1969. 
     Fire entered the Marines in 1969 and was discharged in 1971. After the 
service, he returned to Palmdale and then moved to The Dalles area in the mid-
70’s, where he owned and operated a home painting business.
     He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, motorcycles and 
building and flying remote controlled model planes.
     He was also a non-denominational ordained minister.
     Fire is survived by his daughter, Rachelle Davis, Portland; 
granddaughters, Izsabella and Fiona Davis; his mother, Geraldine T. Miller, 
Linwood, N.C.; sisters, Shirley Fire, Orca Island, Wash.; Logan Fire, 
Charlotte, N.C., and Jennifer Knapp, Silversprings, Nev.; brothers, Steven 
Fire, Silversprings, Nev., Mario Fire, Lexington, N.C., Terry Fire, Denton, 
N.C., and Tim Fire, Linwood, N.C.
     Private family services will be held with the disposition of his remains.
Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith 
Callaway Chapel in care of arrangements.
     Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
