She was born June 10, 1905 on a wheat and cattle ranch on Tygh Ridge. She graduated from Dufur High School in 1923 and the University of Oregon in 1927. She taught physical education, math, English and business in Portland; Amity; Wenatchee, Wash.; and Battleground, Wash., and was a teacher’s aide at Marshall High School in Portland. She also was a secretary for the Social Security Administration and Bonneville Power Administration. She had lived in Milwaukie since 1982. In 1951 she married Elmer Gillam. He died in 1976. Survivors include Malcolm (Mugs) Fargher, Dufur; Bill Fargher, Portland; H. A. (Bud) Fargher, The Dalles; Bob Fargher, Gig Harbor, Wash.; Tom Fargher, Auburn, Wash.; Dorcas Pamment Riley, Milwaukie; Dorothy Whitten DePriest, Dufur; Pauline Fargher Ernst, Los Altos, Calif.; Kathleen Whitten Jones, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Patricia Fargher Knight, Beaverton, and many grand nieces and nephews.
