Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 17, 2006, 11:32 pm The Dalles Chronicle, February 1, 2006 Ivard Paul “Spud” Everts, 77, a resident of The Dalles, died at his home on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006. He was born on May 7, 1928 in Mountain Grove, Mont., the fifth of nine children to Percy and Nellie (Grey Moore) Everts. He was raised in Sunnyside, Wash., and graduated from Washington State University in 1969. He married Helen Armilda Harris on July 6, 1967 in Goldendale. He worked as a mechanic and has lived in The Dalles for more than 22 years. He was a Jehovah’s Witness, member of The Moose Lodge, AA Member for 38 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, Bluegrass Jamboree Festival and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his four sons, Ivard Percy Everts, Troutdale; Donny L. Everts and his wife Brenda Sue, Oakridge; Ronny L. Everts and his wife Lori, Rowena; and George Claude Everts, The Dalles; his daughter Debra Lyn Everts, Corvallis; three siblings, Kay Brown, Ray Everts and Oleta Harris; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Armilda Harris. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-Quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058.
