She was born Feb. 8, 1927, in Essex, England, the fourth of five children to Jon W. and Rose May (King) Bullock. She was raised in England and came to the United States as a war bride. She married John (Jack) E. Dyball on Dec. 25, 1946, in The Dalles. Joan worked and retired from Diamond Fruit as a packing supervisor. She lived in Mosier for 31 years and in The Dalles for the past 17 years. Joan was a Jehovah's Witness, a member of The Dalles Eagles Lady Auxiliary and First Responders for the Mosier EMS. She enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing with her husband, crocheting and knitting. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth J. Dyball and his wife, Karen, Dayton, Wash.; Gerald A. Dyball and his wife, Mari; two daughters, Sheila R. Walters and her husband Fred; Sharon A. Pincock, all of The Dalles; grandchildren, Lars, Scott and Janell Dyball, Eddie Walter, Jon and Mike Sherard, Brandi and Michelle Dyball; six great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Bert, Dennis and Alan Bullock, all of Grays, England. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Dyball in September 1990 and her brother, Ernie Bullock in January 2004. Graveside memorial services will be held at Three Mile Road Odd Fellows Cemetery, (formerly Parklawn Cemetery), on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 1 p.m. with Loren Schacher officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win- quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
