Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 16, 2006, 11:08 am The Dalles Chronicle, October 6, 2005 Leo Duerson, 78, a resident of Wasco, died at a Portland hospice facility Monday, Oct. 3, following a brief struggle recovering from a recent head injury and surgery. The relatives and friends of Leo Duerson invite those who shared memories of his kindness, energy and passions to join in a memorial service to honor his life. A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. at the Cherry Park Grange in The Dalles to be followed by a dance. Guests are encouraged to bring a photo, artifact, a story or written recollection of their shared experiences. He had loved his family and friends and had a passion for life, dancing and his connection with the earth. Although his passing will be mourned by those he touched, his presence in life was a celebration that will be cherished. Leo is survived by his wife Rose of Wasco; children Stuart, Mesquite, Nev.; Cindy, Byron, Ill.; Tim, Las Vegas, Nev.; Kevin, Maple Valley, Wash.; Brad, Ankeny, Iowa; sister Margret, Canton, Ohio; brother Bill, Elm Grove, Wis.; and many friends.
