The Dalles Weekly Reminder, October 13, 1983
     Steven Wayne Douglas, 31, a resident of The Dalles since 1982, died 
Saturday in a fire at his home.
     He was born Oct. 13, 1951 in The Dalles.
     Mr. Douglas was a truck driver for Northwest EPS. and a member of 
Landmark Baptist Church.  He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam for 
seven years.
     Survivors include his wife, Faye, The Dalles; three daughters, Melissa, 
and Casey, both of Medford, and Christina, Omaha, Neb.; four stepchildren, 
Debra and Dallas, Longview, Wash.; and Darren and Deanna, The Dalles; his 
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Douglas, The Dalles; four brothers, Gary, Robert 
and Stanley, Coos Bay, and Donald, The Dalles; a sister, Dorothy Ann Jones, 
Bozeman, Mont., and his grandmother, Mrs. Mildred Samp, The Dalles.
     Graveside services were in the veterans section of The Dalles IOOF 
Cemetery Tuesday with the Rev. Glen Adams officiating.  Military rites were 
conducted by local veteran's organizations.
     Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
