     Dorothy Lillian Wood Doty, 79, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home 
on Thursday, November 20, 2003.
     She was born April 23, 1924 in Hastings, Michigan, the 4th of 7 children 
to the Reverend Arthur Milo and Gertrude Mary (Collins) Coldren. Dorothy grew 
up in Michigan and graduated from Hastings High School in 1942. 
     In March of 1943, Dorothy married Carl Forest Wood of Six Lakes, 
Michigan. Carl’s career in the U.S. Air Force, and later with Lockheed 
Aircraft Corporation, required moving the entire household frequently over the 
years. 
     She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a longtime 
volunteer with the Child Evangelism Center and Red Cross. 
     Dorothy’s Christian faith defined her throughout her life, manifested in 
her deep love, compassion, and forgiveness for all who became part of her 
life, and the belief that all things work toward good for those who put their 
trust in God.
     Dorothy Doty is survived by her husband, Raymond W. Doty, whom she 
married on June 10, 2001, of The Dalles; her children, Gerald Wood, Hayward, 
CA; Dale and his wife, Suzanne Wood, Mountain Home, ID; Michael and his wife, 
Caryne Wood, San Antonio, TX; Susan and her husband, Ron Tietz, Chico, CA; 
Anne and her husband, Jim Smith, Springfield, OR and Judith and her husband, 
Chris Zukin, The Dalles; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her 
siblings, Ruth and her husband, Wyman Clagett, Hastings, MI; Virginia and her 
husband, Jim Young, New Auburn, WI; Philip and his wife, Midge Coldren, Tempe, 
AZ; David and his wife, Betty Coldren, Elkhart, IN and Pat (Mrs. Milo) 
Coldren, Victoria, BC; nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death 
by her husband, Carl Wood in November of 1997 and her son Stephen, in 1990.
     Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Saturday, 
November 22, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery on 
3 Mile Road with Rev. Dean Keller officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell 
Funeral Home are in care of arrangements.
