He was born January 7, 1928, in Oregon, the son of Clarence J. and Gladys (Hayes) Doke, Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Donna Mae Sasse on February 4, 1970, in Stevenson, Washington. She died on May 13, 1999, in The Dalles. He retired from Martin Marietta Corporation after 27 years of employment. He moved to Cody following his wife's death three years ago. Survivors include his children, Cathleen "Cat" Miller and her husband, Chuck, Cody; Jeffrey Doke, Martinez, California; Patti Trail, Elma, Washington; Michael Doke, Hood River (Oregon); and Joni Spade, Reno, Nevada; two brothers, Larry and Ted; a sister, Karen; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Clifford James; and two sisters, Ruth Ann and Sally. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
