The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 15, 1984
     Hazel Brittain Doane, 86, died at Mid-Columbia Medical Center, Nov. 7.  
She was a lifelong resident of Tygh Valley.
     She was born in Tygh Valley on June 16, 1898 to Orange and Mary Brittain.
     Mrs. Doane was a lifelong member of the Rebekah Lodge.
     She is survived by a brother, Guy Brittain, Wamic, and numerous nieces 
and nephews.  Her husband, Arthur, died in November of 1977.
     Funeral services were Friday at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Dan Elam officiating.  Burial was at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
     Casket bearers were Jack, Lyle and Leo Brittain, Harold Delco, Merlin 
Iverson and Ben Ward.
     Memorials may be made to the Southern Wasco County Ambulance Fund or the 
Tygh Valley Fire Department.
