He was born March 2, 1959 in St. Maries, Idaho, the second of seven sons to Harold Dale and Leona Marie (Arrhenius) Derry. He was raised in the Rogue Valley and graduated from Crater High School in 1977. After high school, he enlisted in the Army, serving from 1977 to 1979. He returned to the Rogue Valley, then to the Portland area in the early 90’s and worked as a logger in the timber industry. He is survived by his wife, Pamela A. Rooper, Dufur; three children, Tyler, Alison and Alicia; parents, Harold and Leona Derry, St. Maries; six brothers, Leonard Derry, St. Maries; Steven Derry, Central Point; Paul Derry, Baker City; Mike Derry, Medford; Andy and Scott Derry, both of St. Maries. No public services will be held at this time. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
