He was born January 22, 1906, at Red Lodge, Montana, to Fred and Roxanne (Kelly) Denton. They moved to The Dalles in 1920. Mr. Denton worked for Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Co. for 42 years and retired in September of 1968 in Portland as a maintenance foreman. He moved back to The Dalles in 1971 after his wife retired. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Association and the Old Wasco County Pioneers Association. Survivors include his wife, Alta Denton, The Dalles, whom he married in Spokane, Washington on August 9, 1927; two brothers, Robert of Pendleton and Neal of Portland; a sister, Bertha Bradshaw of Red Bud, Illinois, nieces and nephews. A daughter, Patricia Denton, died in 1945. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with the Reverend James Hazlett officiating.
