She was born October 22, 1904 in St. Johnsville, New York. As a child she moved with her family to San Luis Obispo, California. After completing training as a nurse, she boarded a freighter intent on seeing the world. The first port of call was Honolulu, Hawaii, where she met Ray E. Denton. They married on July 6, 1936 in Hilo, Hawaii. While in Hawaii she worked as a surgical nurse at Leahi Hospital in Honolulu. They eventually moved to Georgetown Lake near Anaconda, Montana, where they owned and operated Denton's Point Resort for 30 years. She was a longtime member of the Anaconda Nile Club where she held several offices. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Eureka Chapter 16, for more than 50 years and was Worthy Matron from 1962-63. They moved to The Dalles in 1975 and in 1981 moved to Monmouth (Oregon). Her husband died on July 25, 1991 after 55 years of marriage. Survivors include granddaughter, Deidre Dunn, Estacada (Oregon), and her children, Jamie, Jenna, Jeremy and Joseph; granddaughter, Brenda Ralph, Mosier (Oregon), and her husband, Jim, and their children, Anna and Leah; stepson, Jere Denton, in California and step daughter, Dorothea Berthoud, in Montana. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Everett Denton. John Everett Denton Obituary Surnames: Denton, Coder, Clancy, Borgen, Dunn, Ralph, Adams, Hinton, Anderson, Williams, Berthoud Word has been received her of the death of John (Joe) Everett Denton, 59, who died on March 15, 2002 in Reno, Nevada after a long battle with cancer. Family members in The Dalles did not learn of his death until the passing of his mother, Eleanor Denton, on December 5 (2002.) He was born June 14, 1939 in Butte, Montana to Eleanor and Ray Denton. He graduated from Anaconda High School in 1957. He married Marcia Clancy in Anaconda on December 25, 1960. He joined the United States Army in 1961 and served in Korea. After he left the service he attended Montana State University where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics in 1968. He moved to The Dalles in 1969 where he taught mechanics, welding and metals at The Dalles High School until 1973. On August 20, 1973 he married Virginia (Ginny) Coder and they moved to Newport (Oregon) where he was employed in the seafood industry. He moved to Alaska in 1987 where he met Faye Borgen. They married on Novembe 1, 1988 in Alaska and in 2000 he moved to Reno where he worked for Ralston Foods of Sparks (Nevada) as Staff Engineer. Survivors included his mother, Eleanor Denton (who died on December 5, 2002); his wife, Fay, Sparks, Nevada; daughter Deidre Dunn, Estacada (Oregon), and her children, Jamie, Jenna, Jeremy and Joseph; Brenda Ralph and her husband, Jim, and their children, Anna and Leah, Mosier (Oregon); stepdaughters, Kim Adams and her husband, Hollis and their children, Jenny, Amanda and Nathaniel, Newberg (Oregon); Bonnie Hinton and her children, Chandra and Garvin, Newberg; Sandra Anderson, Redondo Beach, California; Angela Borger, Lynwood, Washington; stepsons, Mike Williams, Newberg, and Tim Borgen, Spanaway, Washington and his wife, Emilie and their daughters, Jackie; half brother, Jere Denton, in California and half sister, Dorothea Berthoud, in Montana.
