     Catherine (Cathy) M. Delzer, 56, of Forest City, Iowa, who has ties to 
The Dalles area, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center North 
Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. 
     She was born in Mitchell, S.D. on May 4, 1948, the daughter of Orville 
and Mary (Mayhew) Marks. She received her education in Mitchell, Iowa, and 
graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1966. She continued her education at 
Springfield State College and later worked in the office at General Motors 
Equipment in Mitchell. 
     On May 23, 1970 she married Darryl Delzer. The family moved to Forest 
City in 1972.
     She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and an active “prayer-
chain” partner. 
     She is survived by her husband; her parents, Orville and Mary Marks, 
Mitchell; and her children: Monica Solberg and husband Darwin, Forest City; 
Melissa Delzer and fiancee Shawn Plymesser, Lake Mills, Iowa; Michele Badker 
and husband Curt, Clear Lake, Iowa; and Mark Delzer, Forest City.      Also 
surviving are grandchildren Michaela Delzer, Mitchell Solberg, Dylan Solberg 
and baby Badker, soon to be born. 
     Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. at St. James Catholic 
Church in Forest City with Rev. Jerry Blake officiating. Burial will be at St. 
James Catholic Cemetery in Forest City. Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N
