The Dalles Chronicle,  June 6, 2004
     Phillip Michael DeLaTorre, 30, a resident of the Mid-Columbia area, died 
at the local hospital Wednesday, June 2, 2004 of a sudden illness. 
     He was born Feb. 7, 1974, in Phoenix, Ariz., and was raised in Chicago.  
He attended Haskell Indian University in Wichita, Kan., and settled in the Mid-
Columbia area in 1996.
     He is survived by his special friend and companion, Joyce Rayecine Spino, 
Cloud Village, Wash.; three brothers, Joseph Kerns, James DeLaTorre and Ward 
Carner; two sisters, Pascha Stoit and Lynda DeLaTorre.
     Native American services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral 
Home and at Lyle Long House on Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, 2004. 
Interment was held on Monday, June 7, 2004 at Lyle Rattlesnake Indian 
Cemetery. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home are in care of arrangements.
