The Dalles Chronicle, January 11, 2005
     Marjorie Viola Deen, 94, died in Pendleton, where she lived, on Jan. 8, 
2005.
     She was born in Fossil on March 10, 1910, to Herbert and Ruby Morris Knox.
     She married Delbert Neal Deen on April 17, 1928, in Heppner. They had 
four children.
     She was the granddaughter of pioneers and loved speaking of her time 
growing up at the Cove Ranch in Oregon.
     Survivors include a daughter, Chloe Deen Borden and her husband, Walter, 
Reno, Nev.; a son, John Herbert Deen and his wife, Darlene, Arlington; many 
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Thomas Jerry Deen, 
Richland, Wash.; and Jack Delbert Deen, Starr, Idaho; a grandson, baby boy 
Deen, Arlington; a great-great grandson, Nicholas Patrick Gurley, Reno; a 
sister, Mary Knox, Ft. Bragg, Calif.; and a brother, Donald Knox, Bandon.
     Disposition was by cremation with a memorial service to follow on March 
10 in Pendleton. Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in care of arrangements.
