The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 23, 1987
Nola R. Davis, 89, died Jan. 17, at a nursing home in Tacoma, Wash.  She was 
formerly of The Dalles and Grass Valley.

Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 20, 1897, in The Dalles.  She was a farmer in Sherman 
County for many years.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and the 
National Education Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Davis, in 1984.

She is survived by her son, James Dykstra of Steilacoom, Wash.; a sister, 
Helen Dempsey of Portland; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today (Friday), Jan. 23, at 1 p.m. at Smith 
Callaway Chapel in The Dalles, later followed by private vault interment at 
Odd Fellows Cemetery.
