     Velma Adeline Davis, 84, a resident of The Dalles died at a local 
hospital on Jan. 13, 1996.  
     She was born Dec. 30, 1911, in South Bend, Wash, the third of six 
children to Bennie Sheridan and Mona E. (Hall) Bunnell.  She grew up in the 
Centerville-Wishram area.
     She married Earl Leroy Davis on Sept. 1, 1935, in South Bend.  They moved 
to The Dalles in the mid 1930's and he owned and operated Earl Davis Plumbing 
and Heating.
     She was a homemaker and member of the Evangelical Church and Mid-Columbia 
Senior Center.  She enjoyed singing and playing the piano.
     She is survived by her three sons, Neil Davis and wife, Joyce, of Eugene; 
Garth Davis and wife, MaryAnn, of Hermiston and Dennis Davis and wife, Mary, 
of Madras; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lisa, Melinda, Scott and Jason 
Davis, Melissa Norquist, DeLona Campos-Davis and Nina Brancaccio; great 
granddaughter, Ashley Norquist and her sisters, Lorene Mattson of Grants Pass 
and Gertrude Boling of McMinnville.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, on Jan. 13, 1981, an 
infant son, Tyrone in 1937 and her brothers, Sheridan, Melvin and Dale Bunnell.
     Viewing visitation at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Friday, 
Jan. 19, from 2  to 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
     Graveside service at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, at The Dalles IOOF 
Cemetery.  Memorial service following at the Evangelical Church at 2 p.m. on 
Saturday, with Pastor Tim Clemenson officiating.
     Memorials may be made to the Mid-Columbia Senior Center or charity of 
choice, sent in care of Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home, 1100 Kelly Ave., 
The Dalles, OR 97058.
