The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 3, 1983
     Martha Evelyn Davies, 78, a resident of The Dalles for 4-1/2 years and 
formerly a resident of Woodburn, died Saturday in a Portland hospital.
     She was born Feb. 13, 1905 in Black Diamond, Wash.
     She taught school at the high school level at one time.  She was a member 
of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile.
     Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Patt) Gow, Goldendale, Wash.; 
two granddaughters, Mrs. Bill (Kelli) Spalding, Goldendale, and Jodi Gow, 
Yakima, Wash.  Her husband, Dr. Milton Davies, died in October of 1979.
     Private graveside services were Tuesday morning at The Dalles IOOF 
Cemetery.  Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
     Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
