     Betty Ann Darnielle, 71, a resident of Sandy, died Wednesday, July 7, 
2004 with her family at her side.
     She was born Betty Ann Burleson on April 6, 1993 in Concrete, Colo., to 
Lonzo and Thelma (Kennedy) Burleson. She moved to Dodge City, Kansas, and 
later to Oregon where she graduated from Mosier High School.
     She married Pete Darnielle in Silver Lake, Wash., on Oct 2, 1950. They 
lived in various places in the Northwest, including The Dalles.
     Her husand died Nov. 29, 1999 and she moved to Sandy from Pilot Rock.
In 2000, she met James Massey, and they were together since that time.
     She enjoyed the outdoors. 
     Survivors include her companion James E. Massey, Sandy; sons Paul 
Darnielle, Milwaukie; and Burt Darnielle, Sandy; daughter, Shelly McNeil; 
mother Thelma Beldin, Sandy; brother Jerry Burleson, Port Neches, Texas; 
stepbrother Jim Beldin, Sand Point, Idaho; stepsister Joan Beldin, Stevenson; 
and 10 grandchildren.
     A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 
at Welches Lions Club. Sandy Funeral Home is in care of the arrangements.
