The Dalles Weekly Reminder, November 22, 1984
     Burt Ivan Darnielle, 69, died Nov. 9 in Reno, Nevada, after a long 
illness.  He was a former resident of The Dalles.

     Mr. Darnielle was born in The Dalles Feb. 25, 1915.  His parents, Paul 
and Margaret Darnielle, were long-time residents of The Dalles.  He married 
Eunice Irene Irving, Lexington, who died earlier.

     He is survived by a son, John Darnielle, Portland; two daughters, Judy 
Groshen, Bend, and Elizabeth Elmore, Alaska; one brother, R. P. (Pete) 
Darnielle, Portland; two sisters, May Lantis, Dallas, Dorothy Wescott, 
Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  A sister, 
Jean Bartel, died earlier.
