Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 16, 2006, 11:46 pm The Dalles Chronicle, January 4, 2005 James “Jim” Dwayne Darnielle, 46, a former resident of The Dalles, died at his home in Linn, Mo., on Tuesday, Nov. 29, from a rare blood cancer. He was born June 2, 1959 in The Dalles, the fourth of six children to Ronald “Ron” Clark Darnielle and Luella “Lou” (Carroll) Darnielle. He lived in The Dalles for several years before moving to different areas of the U.S. including other parts of Oregon, California, Arizona and finally Missouri. He worked as a ranch hand for most of his adult life. Survivors include his wife, Olive Diane Darnielle, Linn, Mo.; daughters Tyrell Anastashya Darnielle, Linn; Alicia Marie Darnielle Lyons and Rebecca Louise Darnielle, both of The Dalles; sons, James Zacheryha Darnielle, Linn; and Joshua David Michael Darnielle, The Dalles; step daughter, Olive May Hawley, Linn; granddaughter, Alexis, Linn; his mother, Lou (Darnielle) Roberts and spouse Elmer, The Dalles; brother, Ron Darnielle and spouse, Susan, The Dalles; sister Bobbie Radcliffe and spouse, Mike, The Dalles; sister Sandra Arnold and spouse, Doug, Orchards, Wash.; sister Linda Smith, Umatilla; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Ward Darnielle in December 1985 of cancer; his father, Ronald Clark Darnielle, in February 1991; an uncle, James Harry Darnielle, in June 1991; his grandparents, Harry and Dorothy Darnielle; and Olive Russell and Ward Beecher Carroll. Cremation services were held in Missouri. Following the return of his wife and children to Oregon, graveside services will be held at Parklawn Cemetery. The date planned is Jan. 7 at 11 a.m., where he will be laid to rest with his brother and father. Following at 1 p .m. will be a memorial potluck luncheon at the Moose Lodge in The Dalles.
