The Dalles Chronicle, December 10,  1995
     Alma Vera Dahlberg, a resident of Reno for the past five years and a 
former resident of The Dalles, died Saturday, Dec. 9 at her home.  She was 93.
     Mrs. Dahlberg was born May 18, 1902 in Rudyard, Mich., the daughter of 
Henry and Sarafina (Kallio) Halonen Johnson.  When her parents immigrated to 
the United States they were imposed the name Johnson.
     She was a rancher's wife in South Dakota, a retired L.P.N., serving 
mostly in Northern Idaho, and lived in The Dalles for 22 years.
     Mrs. Dahlberg was a Community Action Program volunteer in The Dalles, was 
a member of the Orphans Friend Rebekah Lodge in Wallace, ID., the Licensed 
Practical Nurses Association and a member of the Business and Professional 
Women's Clubs in Kellogg, ID. and Orofino, ID.
     She is survived by two half-brothers:  Mathew Johnson of The Dalles and 
Alfred Johnson of Black Hawk, S.D.; a step-sister:  Ida Teeters of West Palm 
Beach, FL.; two sons:  Donald Dahlberg of The Dalles and Kenneth Dahlberg, 
Boise, ID.; a daughter:  Delores Kirkeberg of Reno, NV.; nine grandchildren 
and 16 great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her mother in 1904, her father, her step-
mother Briita Makela Halonen; three sisters, Jennie, Helga and Hilma.; two 
step-brothers, Emil and George; a half-brother, Henry; and a grandchild, Vera.
     Services are pending and will be handled by Reno Memorial Funeral Service 
in Reno, NV.
     Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, American 
Kidney Association or Reno's St. Mary's Hospice.
