The Dalles Chronicle, March 11, 2004
    Darrell Gene Cross, 55, a former resident of The Dalles, died March 8, 
2004 in Seaside.
     He was born in La Grande on Feb. 5, 1949 and grew up and attended schools 
in The Dalles,
     He is a proud lifetime member of the University of California Berkeley 
Alumni Association, an avid golfer and enjoyed socializing with his many 
friends.
     He was a real estate broker for Trendwest Resorts in Seaside. He had 
previously worked in Roslyn, Wash., Gleneden Beach and Eagle Crest Resort in 
Redmond.
     He is survived by his two children, Bridget Cross, Beaverton; and Darren 
Cross, Astoria; five grandchildren; his companion, Jan Pinardi, Seaside; his 
mother, Juanita Cross, Salem; two brothers, Herb Ames, Cottage Grove; and 
Danny Cross, Battleground, Wash. His father, Ralph Cross, preceded him in 
death.
     A celebration of his life was held in Seaside with his family and 
friends. Remembrances may be donated to the American Cancer Society or a 
charity of your choice.
     Arrangements are in Care of Hughes-Ransom Cremation and Mortuaries, 220 
N. Holladay Drive in Seaside.
