She was born December 3, 1922 in Colville, Washington, to Rolla Abram and Roxie Rosalind (Gilbert) Willett and grew up there. Following her graduation from Colville High School she worked for the local draft board during World War II before attending the University of Washington. She received her bachelor's degree in home economics in 1945, and later that year married John H. Craig in Colville. They moved to The Dalles in 1947 and opened Craig Office Supply. John Craig was a civic leader, including serving as mayor of The Dalles and she supported his efforts, as well as making her own contributions as a member of Soroptimists International, the American Association of University Women, Alpha Delta Pi sorority, The Dalles Country Club, and the United Church of Christ Congregational. She purchased Luv's Hallmark in 1975 and re-named it Neva's Hallmark Shop, which she actively operated until shortly before her death. In 1976 she was named Businesswoman of the Year. Her husband preceded her in death in September of 2001. Survivors include her children, Jim Craig, The Dalles, Jeanie and her husband, Kraig Batty, The Dalles; a sister Betty Jean, and her husband, Bill Collins, Mt. Vernon, Washington; and her grandchildren, Carmen and Curtis Craig and Connor Batty. It was her wish that she have an early birthday party in celebration of her life rather than a memorial services so that she could attend it and enjoy the gathering, and that has been done. Private ceremonies of remembrance will be observed by the family in conjunction with the placement of her ashes with her husband's at Acacia Memorial Park in north Seattle (Washington).
