He was born June 2, 1981 in The Dalles, attended St. Mary’s Academy and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1999. His interests included boating, cooking, restoring his 1953 Chevy Bel Aire, and family. He also was a third-year electrician apprentice with IBEW in Boise, Idaho, where he lived for three years prior to moving to Portland. He is survived by his fiancé, Jessie Doty, Boise; his parents, Paul and Lynn Duus, The Dalles; and Leonard Cooper; his grandparents, Joe and Arlene Burns, Hermiston; sisters Meggan McKenzie, Portland; and Summer Knowlton; brothers Seth Cooper, Jim McKenzie, Gabe Duus, Ryan Duus and Sam Duus. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Betty Cooper and Bonney and Dennis Duus. Recitation of the Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in The Dalles. Private family burial will be held on Friday in the Hermiston Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Mary’s Academy Foundation or Lymphoma Foundation. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
