Wakley iwakley@msn.com June 6, 2006, 12:42 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 14, 1982 Ann Josephine Connolly, 82, a longtime resident of The Dalles, died May 7 at her home after a long illness. She was born Dec. 11, 1899 in Liverpool, England. Mrs. Connolly and Anthony, her husband who died in 1967, lived in Maupin for many years and operated a sheep ranch in southern Wasco County. They moved to The Dalles after retiring in 1951. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Anne's Circle, the Oregon Cattlemen's Association and was one of the founders of the Wasco County CowBelles. She was also past president of the Oregon State Woolgrowers Association. Survivors include her daughter, Frances Connolly, The Dalles; three grandchildren, Dr. Maureen Mack, Mrs. Kathleen Tovy and John Opp, and four great-grandchildren. Cremation in Portland followed private memorial services. Memorials are suggested to the St. Peter's Landmark Preservation, Inc., or the Southern Wasco County Ambulance Fund in Maupin. Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
