Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 22, 2006, 10:05 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 31, 1984 William Michael Connelly, 59, died at a local hospital Saturday after a brief illness. He had lived in The Dalles since 1967. He was born Sept. 24, 1924 in Washington, D. C. Mr. Connelly served in the Navy during World War II. He had been employed by the bakery department of Albertson's since 1950. He moved to The Dalles in March of 1967 to open the bakery department of the local Albertson's store and had been the manager since then. He was a member of the Baker's Union Local No. 114 in Portland. Survivors include his wife, Patricia, in The Dalles; four daughters, Teri Swinford, Toppenish, Wash.; Pamela Hughes, Sandy; Lyssa Smith, Mollala; and Patti Pilcher, Round Mountain, Nev.; a son Michael P., The Dalles; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters, Jewel Harkenroeder, Ocean City, Md., and Hanna Pittle, Silver Springs, Md. Private funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in Portland. Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Fund.
