She was born Feb. 18, 1933, in Stockton, Calif., the youngest of seven children to Lincoln and Thelma (Bozarth) Myers. When she was 14 years old, the family moved to Sherman County where she attended grade school and Wasco High School. She married Jerry Lee Coleman on July 13, 1949, in Goldendale. They lived in Sherman County until the late 1950s when they moved to California, returning to live in Rufus in October, 1962. She was a very active volunteer with the Rufus community, serving as an EMT with the Rufus Ambulance, Rufus City Planning Commission, Rufus Elementary School Board, North Sherman Little League, volunteer/fund raiser, Rufus Easter Egg Hunt volunteer/fund raiser and the American Red Cross Swimming lesson instructor. She enjoyed her family, homemaking and cooking, ceramics, sewing and baseball. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Coleman, Rufus; five children, David Coleman and Leela Coleman, both of Portland; Phil and his wife, Susan Coleman, Rufus; Donna and her husband, Brad Lohrey, Wasco; Douglas and his wife, Robin Coleman, Portland; seven grandchildren, Jason Coleman, Irvine, Calif.; Issac and Noah Coleman, both of Portland; Amanda and Nick Coleman, Rufus; Bethany and Gavenn Lohrey, Wasco; a brother, Lloyd Myers, Japan and sister, Betty Wade, Stockton, Calif. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Friday, March 26, 2004 from 2 to 7 p.m. Private cremation will follow at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory. Graveside Memorial services will be held at the Wasco Sunrise Cemetery on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bud McGee officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Bill and Linda Beers’ home, 511 Vista Street, Rufus. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home are in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Portland Rescue Mission, 111 West Burnside, Portland, OR 97209 or Rufus Fire/Ambulance Department, Rufus, OR 97050.
