He was born Nov. 16, 1933 in Prineville, the second of three children to Roy and Addie Coiner. He was raised in Prineville and graduated from Prineville High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. He also attended technical school in Portland. He moved his family to The Dalles and worked at Milnes then opened his own T.V. sales and repair store, which was known as Ron’s T.V. Service. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and fish club. Ron volunteered his time for 11 years announcing for little league games at 16th Street Ballpark. He was an avid gardener and liked his C.B. radios. He is survived by his children, Carolyn and her husband, Troy Thompson, The Dalles; Stewart and his wife, Dawn Jorgensen, Honolulu, Hawaii; Annette and her husband, Dave Wilson, Dufur; Darlene and her husband, Troy Thompson, Dufur; Addie Coiner-Beaty, Portland; Mike and his wife, Cherie‘ Coiner, The Dalles, grandchildren, Mike and Jason Wilson, Elizabeth Mills, Patricia Thompson, Miranda and Jacob Beaty, Zack, Derek and Samantha Coiner, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Coiner, his son Ronnie Coiner, his brothers, Larman Coiner and Franklin LeRoy Coiner and a grandson, Taron Thompson. Graveside services will be held at Threemile Road Odd Fellows Cemetery on Thursday, May 26, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lynn Taylor officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Challenger Baseball or The 16th Street Ballpark renovation project.
