The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 12, 1988
     Harlin Joseph Cochenour, 63, died at a local hospital Feb. 6.  He was a 
resident of The Dalles for the past 52 years.
     Mr. Cochenour was born in Bladen, Neb., on Nov. 7, 1924.  He attended 
Lyle School and was raised in Dallesport.  He also attended Rockland School in 
Dallesport.  In 1944, he married Evelyn (Sally) Bush.  During the 50s he 
worked building The Dalles bridge and The Dalles dam.  Later he worked for 
Service Motors, where he continued for 25 years until retiring in 1974.  He 
was a member of the First Christian Church in The Dalles.
     He is survived by his wife Sally of The Dalles; a daughter, Kathy Vogel 
of The Dalles; two sons, David and Steven Cochenour of The Dalles; four 
brothers, Lester and Larry Cochenour of The Dalles, Vernon Cochenour of Lyle 
and Morris Cochenour of Albany; an aunt, Grace Ramsey of The Dalles; two 
cousins including Betty Foster of The Dalles; five grandsons, David Jr., Jeff 
and Matt Cochenour, Eric and Mark Vogel; three granddaughters, Rachel, Tiffany 
and Alison Cochenour all of The Dalles; a great-granddaughter; nieces and 
nephews.
     Funeral services were held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
officiated by Asa Jenson.  Memorials are suggested to the Oregon Heart Fund.
