     Shirley (Roxy) Crist, 68, a former Maupin resident, died at her home in 
Nehalem on June 26, 2004.
     She was born in Havre, Mont., on Jan. 26, 1936 to Henry and Ella Hartwig, 
and graduated from school in Maupin.
     She loved her garden and shared her vegetables and flowers. She loved to 
cook and was a good listener. 
     She worked at the Nehalem High School, Wheeler Pharmacy and Nehalem 
Lumber. 
     She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Lafe Crist; sons Gerry Hauser 
and David Hauser, both of Tygh Valley; stepsons Michael Crist and wife, Sue; 
Jeff Crist and wife, Penny; Steve Crist and wife, Wanda; sister Ruby Thacker; 
niece Dawn Ponder, nine grandchildren and seven great-grant children.
     A celebration of life will be held July 24 at the Nehalem Fire Hall. It 
will be potluck and starts at 1 p.m.
     Remembrances may be given to a charity of choice.
