He was born to Marnene and Tim Childress on Dec. 18, 1981 in Hillsboro. He was raised in Grass Valley and attended South Sherman Grade School. He graduated from Sherman High School in 2000. The love of the outdoors was shown in the activities of hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and riding dirt bikes. Family and friends enjoyed going to the cabin on the home ranch that he and his grandfather Ted Carlson built. He was currently employed as a supervisor with Tri County Fencing in Bend Oregon. His passion was reading the Bible, studying God’s Word and reaching out to others about his faith. His love of animals was shown with his 4-H pig projects and with the dogs that had the privilege of sharing his life. He won many showmanship ribbons with that ability. Survivors include his mother Marnene Benson, brother Sean, and step- father Tom Benson, all of Grass Valley; father Tim Childress, Sisters; half sister Jessica, and half brother Timmy, Bend; grandparents Ted and Cleo Carlson, Kent, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents Jack and Nadine Childress, and step-mother Robin Childress. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the South Sherman Grade School in Grass Valley. Potluck lunch will follow the service. Donations can be made to the Sherman County Teen Center.
