She was born March 14, 1925, in Plummer, Minnesota, the youngest of five children to Michael and Anna (Huffman) Fehr. She grew up in Minnesota and moved with her family to Bremerton, Washington following her graduation in 1941. She married Glenn A. Beatty, in December 1949. They moved to The Dalles where she worked as a meat wrapper for 30 years, retiring from Albertson's in the early 1980s. Upon her retirement, they returned to Bremerton where they lived until Glenn's death in 1989. She returned to The Dalles in 1990. She married Ray J. Charles in November 1992 and he died in August 2001. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and enjoyed crocheting, her weekly outings to happy hour with her friends, spending time with her family and especially her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter and husband, Pat and Ron Hill, The Dalles; grandchildren and spouses, Jim and Joyce Hill, The Dalles; Heather and A.J. Tarnasky, Dufur (Oregon); Becky and Felix Solano Liberato, Gresham (Oregon); Brandon Beatty, Seattle (Washington); great-grandchildren, Jakob, Jerek and Josie Hill; Grace and Jack Tarnasky; Naya Flores; Nacin and Tino Solano Liberato; step-children and their families, Pat Barrett, Sacramento, California; Dick and Phyllis Charles, Redmond, Washington; Margie and Dennis Adams, North Bend, Oregon; siblings, Marie Lawrence, Montesano, Washington; Edward and Edna Fehr, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Evelyn Rittenhouse, Norman, Illinois and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her husbands death, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Beatty and her sister, Helen Strand. Viewing and visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home from 2 to 7 p.m. on Thursday May 22, and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday. Recitation of the Rosary followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church at noon on Friday, May 23 with the Reverend Ron Maag officiating.
