Card Carson Janice L. Card Carson, formerly of The Dalles, died in her home July 31, 2003 after a long illness. She was born Jan. 21, 1943 in Boise, Idaho, to Leonard and Helen Card. She was raised in The Dalles and attended schools here. Following graduation from The Dalles High School in 1961, she was accepted into the Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing. After completion of her studies in 1964 she was employed as a registered nurse at Emanuel Hospital, where she met her future husband, David Carson. They traveled to and were married in Sydney, Australia, in 1966 and became full-time residents and raised two children. They divorced in 1993. Mrs. Carson is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Carson Ballarat, Australia; a son, Brian Carson, Oregon City; mother, Helen Card Reierson, The Dalles; three sisters: Kathy Emmons and her husband Terry, The Dalles; Deborah Card, Eugene; Julie Saldivar and her husband Gene, The Dalles; and several nieces and nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Baulkam Hills, Australia. A local memorial service will be held in the near future.
