Wakley iwakley@msn.com May 8, 2006, 5:47 pm The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 1, 1983 Margaret Carrole, 70, a resident of The Dalles for more than 40 years, died Sunday at a nursing home in The Dalles. She was born June 18, 1913 in Dyersburg, Tenn. She and her husband, Frank, operated Mid-Columbia Electric for more than 30 years. Mrs. Carrole had the unique distinction of being the first woman in Oregon to become a licensed electrician and also was a licensed electricial contractor and licensed medical technician. Survivors include three nephews, Frank Freer, Portland; W. C. Freer, Athens, Georgia, and E. F. Hicks III, Statten Island, N. Y. At her request, no funeral services were performed. Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Contributions are suggested to favorite charities.
