Surnames: Carr, Hayden, Worthen, Bills, Grizwold Emma (Beth) Elizabeth Carr, 88, a resident of Dallesport (Washington), died at a local hospital on Monday, April 21, 2003. She was born July 22, 1914, in Daggett, Utah, the oldest of seven children to Frank and Cora (Hayden) Worthen. She married Otis Elmer Carr on November 11, 1931, in Sunnyside, Washington. They lived in Sunnyside until moving to Barstow, California. In the early 1940's, they moved to McMinnville (Oregon) then to Klickitat (Washington) in 1942 and to Glenwood (Washington) in 1944. They settled in Dallesport in 1968. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in The Dalles and enjoyed homemaking, her family and quilting. She is survived by her four children, Coral Bills, Santa Rosa, California; Calvin Carr, Crown Point, New York; Jerry Carr and Preston Carr, Dallesport; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren, her brother Warren Worthen, Magna, Utah and her sister Ladene Grizwold, Garden Grove, California. At her request, there will be no services held. Private cremation will be held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith Callaway Chapel in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Association, 1425 NE Irving #100 Portland, Oregon 97232-4201. BETH W. CARR The Dalles Chronicle May 2, 2003 A celebration of the life of Emma Elizabeth (Beth) Carr will be held on Saturday, May 10, at 3 p.m. at The Dalles Evangelical Church, 1001 E. 12th Street. There will be special music, her favorite hymns and memories will be shared. A potluck will follow. She died at the local hospital on April 21, 2003.
