Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 28, 2006, 6:27 pm The Dalles Chronicle, June 28, 2006 Rick Carmichael, 68, died peacefully, yet unexpectedly, while on vacation with family in Reno, Nev., on June 21, 2006. He was born in Bellingham, Wash., the second of three children born to Donovan and Elma Carmichael. In 1956 he enlisted in the US Navy for six years, where he served as a first class aviation machinist in the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter who loved the outdoors, hunting, sports, gardening, and animals. He enjoyed going to rodeos, riding horses, listening to country music and spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother Elma Carmichael, daughter Laurie and husband Chris Pryse, daughter Shari and husband Martin Diaz, daughter Debbie and husband Roger Lyda, daughter Kimberly and husband Justin Petersen, eight grandchildren as well as the mother of his children and forever friend Carol Carmichael. Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, July 7, at the Dufur Christian Church with Pastor Bob Peterson officiating.
