The Dalles Chronicle, January 20, 2005
     Martha R. Carlson (Reguly), 90, a resident of The Dalles, died on Jan. 
15, 2005 at her home.
     She was born July 26, 1914 in Chicago, Ill., to Julia and Michael Reguly. 
Her five siblings preceded her in death.
     She graduated Parker High School and worked as a bookkeeper in her 
father’s automobile business in Chicago. After marriage, she and her husband, 
George C. Carlson, began The Beverly Hills Photography Studio, also in 
Chicago. She specialized in photographs of brides and babies, some of which 
won prizes at national conventions of professional photographers. 
     She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Union Church in Beverly Hills 
and of various local civic and business organizations.
     She was an avid gardener and a marvelous cook. At age 76, she became an 
accomplished amateur artist.
     She moved to The Dalles in 1994. There she became a volunteer at the Dry 
Hollow Elementary School and a member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church.
     Survivors include daughters, Marta Moser, The Dalles.; Judith Winship, 
New York, N.Y.; and George M.A. Carlson, Harrisburg, Pa.; grandchildren Emily, 
Wendy, Elizabeth, Chad, Sarah, Anna, and Jason, and great-grandchildren 
Kathryn, William, Spencer, Julia and Michael.
     Her husband also preceded her in death.
     Interment will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later 
date when family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate her long life. 
     Memorials may be sent to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1805 Minnesota St., 
The Dalles, OR 97058, or to a charitable organization of the donor’s choice 
choice.
