The Dalles Chronicle, June 23, 2006
     Margaret Ellen Cael, 94, a resident of The Dalles, died Wednesday, June 
21, 2006, at a local care facility.

     She was born Feb. 24, 1912, the oldest of three children to Robert 
Maxwell and Nellie Denton (Alexander) Anderson in Yamhill. She grew up in 
Madras and Sutherlin. She graduated from Sutherlin High School in 1929, and 
attended the University of Oregon. 

     She married Hubert Paul Cael in 1946 in Portland, and was a psychiatric 
aide at the State Hospital. She moved to The Dalles in 1958, and was a member 
of St. Peters Catholic Church, and also a member of St. Barbara’s Circle, and 
the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. 

     She is survived by her daughter Linda Miller, The Dalles; sons Bob Cael, 
Portland; and Don Cael, The Dalles; grandchildren Logan Cael, Portland; Evan 
Cael, Port Townsend, Wash.; Vondra Cael, Portland; Jeb Miller, The Dalles; 
Fallon Cramblet, The Dalles; and several nieces and nephews. 

     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hubert Cael, and 
her brother Howard Anderson.

     A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, June 27, at St. Peters Catholic 
Church at 10 a.m. with Reverend Todd Unger as officiant. A burial will follow 
at 2:30 p.m. at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. 

     Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home are in care of arrangements.
