Wakley iwakley@msn.com and August 3, 2006, 12:41 am The Dalles Chronicle, April 28, 2006 Harold Wayne Bergen 62, of The Dalles, died peacefully Wednesday, May 10, 2006, at the OHSU hospital in Portland after a sudden, short illness. He was born to Alvin R. and Marjory Aldore (Minear) Bergen, the first of two children, in Wichita, Kansas, on March 1, 1944. He grew up in Wichita, and graduated from high school there. He joined the Navy in 1963, and served until 1967. He moved to The Dalles in the 1970’s, and was the engineering manager at Northwest Aluminum Plant until his retirement several years ago. A member of the American Legion, he enjoyed many hobbies, some of which included computers, photography, hunting, and socializing at local restaurants and bars. He is survived by his only daughter, Jamie-Lee Rolfe; son-in-law Stephan Rolfe; grandson Joshua Rolfe; granddaughters Jacinta Rolfe and Jessice Rolfe; he was a special friend to many in the local community and especially to Denise Bryant and Anna Berger. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at 11 a.m., at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home, with Asa Jenson officiating.
