The Dalles Chronicle, April 12, 2005
     Paul Bennett, 80, formerly a longtime resident of The Dalles, died at his 
home in Newport on April 8, 2005. 
     He was born in Oregon City on Feb. 18, 1925, and served in the Army 
during World War II. 
     Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dolores; his sons Brad, Guy and 
Kevin, his sister Sarah Mertz, and eight grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his brothers James D. Bennett and Charles W. 
Bennett. 
     A celebration of his life is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, at 2 p.m., 
at Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles. 
     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Zion 
Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.
