The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 22, 1988
Geraldine Amelia Benedict, a lifelong resident of Dufur, died at the age of 84 
on Jan. 11.

Mrs. Benedict was born in Dufur to George and Mable Rothery on Oct. 26, 1903.  
She was a member of the Dufur Christian Church, the Dufur Garden Club and 
Ramsey Park Grange.

She is survived by her husband, Bryan Benedict of Dufur, who he married Feb. 
25, 1925, in Dufur; a son, Vance W. Benedict of Portland; Valda Lance of 
Tumwater; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, including 
Eva Tucker of The Dalles; a brother.

Funeral services were held at Dufur Christian Church officiated by Pastor Asa 
Jenson. Entombment followed at Dufur Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to 
Dufur Ambulance Fund.  Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in charge of 
arrangements.
